CAMBER partner AIT – Austrian Institute of Technology has successfully completed another comprehensive ground-truth data collection campaign at the Trikala pilot site in Greece.
Using RoadLab, AIT’s measurement vehicle, the team conducted detailed surveys across selected road sections in Trikala. The advanced measurement systems collected high-precision reference data on road geometry, slope, transverse and longitudinal levelness, pavement condition, and the location of key infrastructure elements. Together, these measurements provide a detailed picture of the road environment and its physical characteristics.

The campaign was carried out in close collaboration with e-Trikala, whose local expertise and on-the-ground support were crucial in ensuring that the data collected were accurate, reliable and relevant to the local road environment.
The resulting datasets will contribute to CAMBER’s work on road asset management and safety, providing a robust evidence base for better-informed maintenance decisions and the development of innovative solutions. Through these activities, the Trikala pilot is helping pave the way for safer and more resilient road networks.
