EU Road Safety Cluster
The EU Road Safety Cluster is a collaborative platform bringing together EU-funded projects working to advance safer, smarter and more sustainable mobility across Europe. By fostering collaboration between complementary initiatives, the Cluster helps maximise the impact of European research, accelerate knowledge exchange, and support the uptake of innovative solutions by policymakers, road authorities and industry. In particular, it promotes the development of innovative, data-driven approaches that support the EU Road Safety Policy Framework 2021-2030 and contribute to achieving the long-term Vision Zero ambition of eliminating road deaths and serious injuries.
As of July 2026, CAMBER is leading the Cluster, coordinating its activities and strengthening cooperation between member projects.

FRODDO is a pioneering research and innovation project funded by the European Union, designed to propel the evolution of connected and automated mobility (CCAM). With the rise of autonomous vehicle technologies, the need for integrated, fail-safe systems that can adapt to various environmental, traffic, and operational conditions has never been greater. HEIDI is breaking new ground by designing a cooperative HMI that connects drivers and pedestrians in dangerous situations. With internal and external HMIs, HEIDI adapts in real time to the behaviors and needs of drivers and VRUs.

ProtAct-Us aims at protecting all road user groups from serious injury and long-term physical, cognitive and mental health consequences of road crashes, through innovatively interlinked research action between medical and engineering tools.

SOTERIA project aims to accelerate the attainment of the EC’s ‘Vision Zero’ goal for vulnerable road users (VRUs) by providing a holistic framework of innovative tools and services. Project partners are committed to designing solutions that promote and achieve safe and green travelling of VRUs, foster integration of electric micro-mobility vehicles in urban environments and enable more inclusive transport.
V4SAFETY
V4SAFETY will provide a prospective safety assessment framework that can handle a large variety of safety measures, ranging from in-vehicle safety technology, infrastructure solutions to regulations that influence road user behaviour. It includes methods to project the results in future scenarios and over EU regions for use by policy makers, authorities and consumer organizations.
